The WSET® Level 2 Award in wines and spirits is intended for yacht crew who are aspiring to a Chief Steward (ess) position or anyone who wishes to deepen their knowledge of wine and spirits. The course is very intensive, lasting three full days with the exam at the end of Day 3. The syllabus includes topics such as the key wine-producing areas of the world, grape varieties, label terminology, tasting wine, decanting and food and wine matching.
The WSET® Level 3 Award in wines lasts 6 days and it is a very intense, informative in-depth wine course. It is strongly recommended to have done the Intermediate before or to have an equal level of experience and knowledge. During the first 5 days we will taste around 80 wines, go through wine making and viticulture, classification systems, wine regions and grape varieties and much more. On the morning of the 6th day you will take your exam which consists of a blind tasting and theory part. This course really gives you good base in the world of wine and you will be able to advise and recommend your clients with great confidence.
